Breakfast: Smoothies after CrossFit. We do the 5 AM class and both can’t really tolerate food before we workout that early. So I make smoothies when get back home and usually drink them within 30 minutes of working out. Cody’s includes chocolate protein powder, banana, peanut butter, and milk. Mine includes vanilla protein powder, banana, spinach, avocado, PB2, and water or milk.

On the weekends when we have more time, I ALWAYS make pancakes and eggs. My go to is Kodiak pancakes with frozen berries, topped with peanut/almond butter and maple syrup. As you can see, I’m on team sweet for breakfast!

Morning Snack: RX bar- my favorite flavor is Maple Sea Salt!

Lunch: I usually leftovers or a big salad. This day I had a giant taco salad with leftover taco meat, chips + salsa, and an apple on the side. The taco salad includes lettuce, taco meat, rice or cauli rice, salsa, and chips crushed up. I like to add black beans too, but didn’t have any. I pack Cody’s lunch every day, something that he can eat quickly, doesn’t need warmed up, or any silverware. For the most part it’s a deli sandwich or I’ll cook a bunch of pork chops and he’ll eat them cold. Lots of snacks packed as well!

Afternoon snack: I usually grab a handful of crackers or my favorite, these Coconut Clusters from Costco!

Dinner: I try to make dishes that we can both eat (aka isn’t all vegetables) so I don’t have to make two dinners. Tonight we had Panko crusted chicken breasts, roasted potato wedges, and roasted carrots. Can you tell which is my plate and which is Cody’s?!

Bedtime snack: I ALWAYS have a bedtime snack, usually something sweet that includes a carb + fat. It’s harder for our bodies to digest protein, so I try to avoid that so I sleep well. On this night, I had an apple + peanut butter + popcorn and Cody had a big bowl of popcorn. Having a snack at night ensures that we won’t wake up too hungry in the morning before our workout. It’s okay to eat past dark 🙂

I hope this helps you some and inspires you to nourish your body in the way it deserves! As always, please reach out to me with any nutrition questions!
